Make Memories with Growing Roots Subscription Box

Growing Roots Subscription Box

I’m not new to the idea of subscription boxes. In fact, I love them. I think it’s fun having new products sent to my door on a monthly basis – especially when the products being sent are things I’d never think to buy for myself. I can say that I have really enjoyed my Growing Roots subscription box that they sent me. These boxes aim to connect families by building memories and they do just that.

The Going to Bed Book

Spending quality time with my daughter is very important to me, as is having “me”/ relaxation time. I love that there are amazing books in these boxes as well as pampering items for mommies.  As if the whole concept of the box is not great enough, with each box bought, a child in need has a book donated to them. Growing Roots box’s mission is “We believe in empowering families to spend more time together and in the benefits of early literacy.” I think that is so sweet.

Little Flower Relaxing and Detoxifying Lavender Bath Salt

I love that I’m able to build up my daughter’s book collection with quality books. I know these books will be in our family for a long time! I especially loved seeing that there was a Dr. Suess book in my box because growing up, Dr. Suess books and movies were some of my absolute favorites.

Someday book

Each month you receive 4-6 quality items sent to you for $39 + shipping. Something I like about these boxes is that items you get don’t all come from big companies. They come from small shops like ones found on Etsy. I think it’s really cool that Growing Roots Box supports small shops. You can tell a lot of thought goes into their product choices.

Bed Time Chore List

Products I received in my Growing Roots subscription box are as follows:

Ten Apples Up On Top! Book: I adore Dr. Suess books! I think they’re so great for children’s imaginations.

Growing Roots Eye Pillow: Wonderful for keeping cold or hot depending what you need it for. Whether you have a headache or just want to get rid of bags under the eyes, this is great.

Bed Time Chore Chart: My daughter can’t use this yet but I love how it’s designed! A metal sheet on wood with magnets that have chores for kids so they know what to do to get ready for bed. I, personally, am a visual person. I feel like this would make doing night time routines a little bit more fun for kiddos.

Ten Apples Up On Top! book

Someday BookThis is such a lovely book. It’s about a mother who dreams of all the wonderful things her child will do in life.

The Going to Bed Book: A cute book that makes going to bed more fun. 🙂

Lavender Seeds

Lavender Seeds: I love that they included these because I’ve always wanted to make a garden. Lavender is so great for helping people fall asleep. It has a relaxing aroma.

Little Flower Relaxing and Detoxifying Lavender Bath Salt: Firstly, this bath salt smells so wonderful. Secondly, it’s definitely relaxing. I could not wait to try this bath salt and pretty much immediately opened it and poured myself a bath. It did not disappoint.

Eye Pillow by Growing Roots

Overall, I liked what I received. I thought it was a great box. There were pampering items for me and lasting products for my daughter, so definitely nice in my book.

Favorite. Swaddle. Ever. Ollie Swaddle

Ollie Swaddle box and swaddle

My daughter was swaddled from the day she was born until about 7 months old or so. While sleeping in her pack n play, her arms would inevitably make it up to her face and wake her up if she wasn’t being swaddled. My husband and I would never have gotten sleep without the Ollie Swaddle.

I received the Ollie Swaddle as a baby shower gift from my sisters-in-law and then from Ollie Swaddle, and I’ll admit I had heard of it, but I didn’t know exactly what it was. I hadn’t really researched it much. After receiving the Ollie Swaddle and trying it out at the hospital with my newborn baby, I was really impressed! It kept her calm and happy, which made me very happy since my husband was sick with Strep and couldn’t be at the hospital much with me. A. stayed so calm that I actually kept her in my hospital room for the next 2 days and she didn’t stay overnight at the nursery.

What I love about the Ollie Swaddle is that it is stretchy, soft, and has velcro closures on it. It also helps with the startle reflex in babies because it helps contain the baby’s arms and legs. The older that my daughter has gotten, the more she likes to wiggle in her sleep. I’ve tried using other swaddles but she’s like Houdini and wiggles her arms or hands right out! The Ollie Swaddle has helped her keep her arms to her side and not wake herself up.

DockATot and Ollie Swaddle

Another thing that I like about the Ollie Swaddle is that you can use it to transition a baby out of the swaddle by leaving their arms out. There is a stretchy loop that you can use to close the swaddle at the bottom (almost like a tail) and it keeps your child’s feet warm. 🙂 It’s definitely my favorite swaddle and I would highly recommend it! It was a life saver with my baby!

Latchy Catchy Review + Giveaway

Latchy Catchy

I live in a rental house that has been in the middle of renovations since I moved in. As you can imagine, having nail guns, saws, and drills running during the day isn’t very quiet. My daughter still takes 3-4 naps a day so I need to be able to have somewhere not too loud for her to sleep. Luckily, I’m able to quietly put her in her nursery or in my room and close the door without noise thanks to my Latchy Catchy.

The Latchy Catchy is a cloth door silencer with loops on both ends that attach to your door knobs. It keeps the door latch from clicking and creates a snug fit so your door shuts without waking up your baby. My daughter is pretty great with noises, she can sleep through most things unless they’re too loud. One thing that makes her jump awake is clicking, or clanking (like on a glass). I have no idea why she wakes up to these noises but eating with a fork and glass plate is impossible next to her when she’s sleeping. I hate when she’s sound asleep and the tiniest clank jolts her awake. She doesn’t seem to wake up when I close her door with the Latchy Catchy which is great. Mama needs her to get as much rest as possible. Teething anger is real! :O

Latchy Catchy on door

I love the ease of putting the Latchy Catchy on my doors. As I said, you simply put one loop on the inner door handle and the other loop on the outer door handle. That’s all there is to it!

I have two Latchy Catchys. One is on my bedroom door and one is on my daughter’s bedroom door. Because of the snug fit with the door, the Latchy Catchy helps you be able to completely close the door but you’re still able to easily open and close the door again. No more door slamming, and no more pinched fingers for little ones! Yay 😀

The design I have featured above is “Naptime + Roses”. Super cute name. 😀 I love the floral pattern. I also have an animal print patterned Latchy Catchy called “Sleepy Safari”. It’s a white and gray Leopard print. The pricing for one Latchy Catchy is $14.99 but they have sales all the time which makes them pretty affordable.

You can check out Latchy Catchy HERE.

Go Little One Go

Go Little One Go Legging Gift Set - Aqua and Light Grey

So, little A is learning to crawl around and she’s practically there. Since it’s summer and since she slips on the floor with regular pants, I usually put her in a shirt so her bare legs can touch the floor. She’s able to move a lot easier that way. A month or so back, I found a company through Instagram called Go Little One Go who makes anti-slip bamboo leisurewear for babies! I thought that was such a genius idea.

Go Little One Go Legging Gift Set

I want to just say, firstly, that these clothes are buttery soft. I honestly wish they made clothes for grown adults. Haha. The reason their clothing is so soft is that it’s made from an allergy-free bamboo – so it doesn’t mess with your little one’s sensitive skin. There is also spandex in their clothes which makes for a comfortable fit on your baby.

Go little One Go‘s clothing is one size that ranges from 6-15 months, which is the typical crawling stage. A is almost 7 months old, 17 lbs, and this aqua and light grey legging gift set fits her nicely. It’s not too loose and not too tight.

What I love about this set is that A is able to move freely and comfortably on the floor thanks to the silicone safety grips on the leggings. They are so great! I can’t tell you how many times A has been trying to crawl in regular pants on our hardwood floors and she gets extremely frustrated that she can’t get anywhere. It’s frustrating for me because her legs get red and sore on the floor if I don’t have pants on her.

I’m really glad that we found this brand. I think their prices are reasonable for the quality of their products and the folks at Go Little One Go are so so kind. I’m just thankful my girl can be comfortable as she explores the floor! Please check them out and look at their shop. You won’t regret it.

Lorena Canals Rugs

Some of the top celebrities, bloggers, and magazines LOVE Lorena Canals’ rugs. It’s no surprise because their handmade rugs are not only gorgeous and functional but they’re also made with non-toxic dyes and are machine washable. Which, lets face it, is a need.. especially when you have children and pets!

Lorena Canals has so many designs and shapes for their rugs. Whether you are sophisticated, or fun-spirited, there honestly is a rug for everyone’s taste. I have one of their white, spotted rugs with scalloped edges called “Little Biscuit White” and I absolutely love it for my daughter’s room. The design is so versatile and cute. 🙂

Lorena Canals rug

So, as mentioned above, one of my favorite things about these rugs is that they’re machine washable! One thing you’ll find as a mother is that you need products that provide functionality. Even the cleanest, neatest children can ruin the nicest things so it’s nice to have a rug you can actually wash.

Along with being machine-washable, Lorena Canals’ rugs are sooo soft! I lay my daughter down on hers for playing and tummy time and I find myself wanting to join her and run my hands all over it. 😀 Wherever her rug is, my dog is also wanting to lay on it. I’ve found him in her room several times sleeping on it. It’s the sweetest thing. But, again, I love that I’m able to wash it after he has laid on it.

There are so many gorgeous designs and patterns for all. I would definitely recommend these rugs to anyone I talk to. The only down to these rugs is that the price point is a little bit pricey. But honestly, for a rug that is handmade, will last forever, and can’t really be ruined from normal use, I think it’s an incredible value.

If you’re interested in checking out Lorena Canals’ rugs, you can find their site –> HERE and their INSTAGRAM –> HERE. They have more than just rugs, you can also find baskets, pillows, and blankets too — all, which are machine washable as well. You’re sure to find something you love!
