If you’re like me, you like to spend time on your phone in between the mundane moments in life.
Every once in a while I’ll go to the app store and check out the new apps that have shown up. I like to make sure I’m not missing ones that could make my day-to-day tasks a little bit easier. 🙂
I’ve decided to show you 5 apps that I’ve found have helped me every month at some point. So here we go!
Allrecipes Dinner Spinner – I’m a huge foodie and I love to cook! I do like to try new recipes, but sometimes I get stuck in a rut of making the same dishes. Whenever I have that problem, I get out my phone and go to my Allrecipes Dinner Spinner app and check out the different categories on there.
On the first page it’ll show you a search bar and the recipes of the day. From the search bar, you can add any dietary restrictions: vegan, low-fat, dairy free, wheat free, etc. You can also tell it you want certain ingredients included or not included or ask it to show you recipes that are ready in less than 15 mins to less than 3 hours.
One of my favorite things to do is to check out recipes that have high ratings because I know if 1000 people said it was yummy, it may just be! 🙂 Some of my favorite recipes ever have been on there and I trust it well enough to make it my first choice when searching for recipes. You can save your favorite recipes in the “Recipe Box” which is great. 🙂
Period Diary – Ok, so let’s face it, this isn’t our favorite time of the month.. but it happens EVERY month. 🙁 I’m the type of person who is horrible at keeping up with when mine is, so I rely on this little gem to help me remember.
I haven’t had to mess around with all the little gadgets on here but basically – you click on the “Period Log” button and you add the day your period started and the day your period ended. From the chart , it figures out your typical cycle length and estimates when your next time will be. It’s either been spot on for me or off by maybe a day or so.
Love this app. 🙂 It’s a life saver. Not to mention, it can tell you when your fertile window is open and also when you will be ovulating which is great for those of you looking to have kids soon. 🙂
Rain, Rain Sleep Sounds – Have you ever been in bed at night and every thing is too quiet to where it seems eerie? I know I’m not the only one who still believes monsters live under the bed! lol. 🙂 That’s where this app comes in!
I browse through the sounds and pick the one I think will lull me to sleep. With sounds like: Rain, Ocean Pier, Harbor Seagulls, Crackling Fire, and so many others, you can’t help but find a nostalgic sound that’s comforting.
My favorite sound at the moment is Desert Wind. It’s not very loud or noisy, it just sounds like a calm wind. I can set a timer for a certain time to a certain amount of minutes or hours. It’s truly been a life-saver for me. For someone with anxieties, who can’t turn their brain off at night, this is really nice! Even if you don’t have anxieties, it’s just relaxing!
Ibotta – I’ve been trying to get into couponing after seeing shows like Extreme Couponing. After seeing how much money can be saved at the grocery store, I feel a tiny bit guilty if I don’t try to save at least a little bit.
Ibotta is a pretty cool app because they have weekly deals where you can get .25 cents to a few dollars off your items. You don’t immediately get paid for the items you buy, but once you’ve gotten home you just scan the bar codes on your items, and take a picture of your receipt. Once the Ibotta team verifies your purchases, you are credited the amounts to your account.
After you’ve gotten 5 dollars worth of credit, you can then cash out with your Venmo account or your Paypal account. It’s really that simple. Yes, it takes work, but I think it’s worth it.
If you’d like to try it out, my personal referral code is : qh9usa 🙂
Happier!!! :)) – Oh boy!!! This is one of my favorite apps in my phone.
If you’ve not heard of Happier, here is what the description is: “Happier is a fun social gratitude journal combined with a positive community”. I could not agree more with this description! Since using this app, I’ve felt more happy, grateful, and all around more positive than I have been in a long while.
Every day, you’re able to connect with new friends and post/read each others gratitude entries. On days I’ve been in a slump, I read the entries here and feel so much better.
The awesome thing about this app is that there is no negativity on here. Everything is happy and positive 🙂 I’d realized that social media outlets like Facebook were making me feel down. Anyone can post anything on there and every day there’s negative posts that bring your mood down. You don’t have to worry about that on here! It’s all positive posts and inspirational pictures. Love love love! I couldn’t recommend this app more! It really has been a God-send for me.
Do any of you have apps that you’re absolutely loving?! I’d love to know! 🙂
Xo Happy Saturday!!!
