DockATot Grand Lounger – Perfect For Toddlers!

DockATot Baby Grand

If you’ve seen my previous post about the DockATot, you know that it is a prized possession in my family! We love it.

DockATot Grand Baby Lounger

The DockAtot was the first sleeper I ever put my daughter in to help her sleep when she came home from the hospital. She learned to sleep through the night in it around 5-months-old. And now that my daughter is a toddler it is the perfect place for her to lounge or take a nap if she chooses.

DockATot Grand

A Few Features I Have Loved About the DockATot

  1. You can carry it around. This is so nice when you have a smaller baby that needs to be watched over 24/7. I would carry mine to the living room and place it on the couch beside me while I blogged or did laundry, etc.
  2. It mimics the cozy space of a womb so baby feels secure and happy.
  3. Once baby gets bigger, you can resize or undo the strap at the bottom of the DockATot to accommodate their length.
  4. The outer layer is washable. Have a stain? No problem. Wash and dry the DockAtot with ease.
  5. The smaller DockATot (Deluxe+) can fit in a suitcase easily. I liked to pack the DockATot in my checked baggage for trips and place all my other items inside of it. The DockAtot Grand is larger (think crib sized), so if you wanted to, I’m sure you could fold it into your bag.
  6. Very soft!
  7. When you have a smaller baby, it is great because they can’t roll out of it. It makes it easier to co-sleep with them but it also gives you peace of mind if you need to step out of the room for just a minute.
  8. Excellent lounger for toddlers. They can watch movies in it or simply take a nap.
  9. Breathable material.
  10. I have not transitioned my daughter to a bed yet, and won’t for several years, but I have heard the lounger is great for transitioning children to bigger beds.
  11. Deluxe+: perfect for children 0-8 months. Grand: perfect for children 12-36 months.

DockATot Grand perfect for toddlers

Pricing wise, I do think the DockATot is pricey. The smaller ones range from $175-$200, while the larger ones range from $275-$300. That’s roughly the price of some cribs. The biggest thing you must weigh is if you will use it a lot or not. I know for me, I used it every day when Avery was a baby. I didn’t set up a crib until she was much older so the DockATot was my saving grace. The ease of carrying her from room to room was just what I as a new mom needed. I love that I can travel with each DockATot too.

DockATot Grand

In the end, I guess you would have to ask yourself “Will I use this a lot?”, “Can I put a price on peace of mind and good sleep?”. It is an investment, but in my opinion, I love the DockATot.

Nuby 360 Degree Wonder Cup and E-Z Squee-Z™

Nuby No-Spill 360 Wonder Cup

How many of you are transitioning your baby from a sippy cup to a regular cup? If you are, then Nuby has some great cups to help with that. One of the cups I have found that has helped A transition is the Nuby 360 Degree Wonder Cup.

Features of the 360 Wonder Cup

  • Made of plastic.
  • Child can sip from any side
  • 8 oz / 240 ml
  • (The cup in my post features two handles but you can get ones without handles.)
  • Water comes out from pressure of child’s lips on the cup
  • *Mostly* spill-proof. I will explain below…

My Thoughts About the 360 Wonder Cup

So over-all, I like the 360 Wonder Cup. I love that Avery has been able to drink from it easily since she was a lot younger. The fact that she can sip from any direction on the top of the cup, and her drink comes out is great. I also like that there are handles to make holding her cup much easier. Avery can hold practically any cup now, but when she was younger, she had some issues.

Something that I don’t love about the 360 Wonder Cup is that it is supposed to be spill-proof but I haven’t found that to be true yet. Granted, if Avery is drinking water from this cup, it doesn’t all go pouring down her shirt like a regular cup. But, if Avery drops her cup on the floor or drops it on her tray upside down, the pressure makes water spill out. I do still like to use this cup because I think it’s way less messy than a regular cup but I don’t think it is spill-proof.

Features of the E-Z Squee-Z™

  • Helps promote self-feeding in babies
  • For semi-solid foods and purees
  • Made of silicone
  • For babies 3+ months old

My Thoughts About the E-Z Squee-Z™

I have loved having the E-Z Squee-Z. When Avery was learning to eat semi-solid foods or when I wanted her to be able to eat berries or something similar but not choke on them, I used the E-Z Squee-Z. Avery’s favorite thing to eat in it has been bananas or yogurt. I don’t use it AS much these days since Avery can eat tons more on her own than she used to be able to. But, I like being able to put yogurt in this and Avery can’t squeeze it all over the place like she would be able to with a yogurt pouch.

The only negative thing I would say about the E-Z Squee-Z is that sometimes the bottle likes to suction and I find that it would be hard for a baby or toddler to squeeze the contents of the bottle upwards.

Over-all, I would say I have liked these two Nuby products. They have helped with Avery transitioning from a baby to an almost toddler.  They are simple to put together and also to clean which is all a mama can ask for.

You can check out Nuby’s other products on their website.

North States Superyard® Classic Play Yard Review

North States Superyard® Classic Pink

If you have very little children who are crawling, climbing, and walking around — you probably need a play yard. North States makes some of the most versatile and easy-to-assemble play yards on the market.

I found North States through my friend’s Insta Story several months back and I loved how her little one had so much space to roam in his play yard. Not only that, but he seemed happy toddling along inside. He wasn’t off getting into mischief while she did chores and other things around the house.

Avery is nearly one and she gets into EVERYTHING! She climbs, pulls items around the house onto the floor, crawls super fast and walks along the couch. Having a play yard is a lifesaver for me and I know it is for many moms.

North States Superyard® Classic in color "Pink"

Things I Love About the Superyard® Classic Play Yard

  • Avery is able to be in a safe environment with her toys or whatever I place inside with her.
  • I am able to get chores done without having to carry Avery around with me.
  • The superyard can be made into either a square, hexagon or octagon. You can add a two panel extension to make the space inside that much larger.
  • It is tall and Avery is not able to climb out of it.
  • There is a variety of colors you can choose from. I love PINK, obviously. 😀
  • It is very easy to assemble — no tools required (see diagram below).
  • You can put your pets in it as well to keep them safe in one spot.
  • Messes are a breeze to clean!
  • It is made in the USA which is something I love to support! 🙂

  • Folds for transportation and storage.
  • Panels connect by a spring mechanism that holds a pin into a cylinder by pushing down.
  • Made of plastic.

North States Superyard® Classic Pink

I’ve been really loving North States Superyard® Classic. It is easy to use and it keeps my daughter out of harm’s way when I am busy. The price point is great for this playpen as well. You can find it at Walmart for just $69.99. They have a few colors for this particular play yard.

North States actually has an abundance of different play yards as well as baby gates so definitely check them out!

Newborn Must-Haves

Newborn Must-Haves

Having a brand new baby can sometimes be overwhelming. There are so many books, forums, and even family and friends that are going to give you loads of advice. The main piece of advice that I can give you if you’re a new mom is that every baby is different so find what products work for them.

I compiled a list of products that I absolutely loved as a new mom. They helped me so much during the first 6 +/- months of Avery’s life. Some products I am still using.

  1. DockATot – This is such an amazing product for babies! It is cozy just like the womb, so babies get great naps in here. I literally packed this lounger in my suitcase wherever I traveled. It’s perfect for tummy time, naps, play time… you name it.
  2. NoseFrida – If you’ve ever researched bulb syringe’s, you’d see that many get mold build up in them which is pretty gross. When teething or sick, babies can get runny noses. I love using the NoseFrida because it’s extremely easy to use, it cleans out the baby’s nose, and you can clean it thoroughly.
  3. Pampers Baby Dry Diapers – I LOVE the yellow strip on these diapers! When your baby has peed, the strip will turn blue so you know you need to change them. These diapers are great for overnight. I’ve never had a leak out of them.
  4. Ollie Swaddle – For my baby shower, I received an Ollie Swaddle as a gift from my sisters-in-law. It is such an excellent swaddle! When Avery was a newborn, she wiggled sooo much in her sleep and her hands would keep her awake. Ever since I used this swaddle, she slept so peacefully at night and it kept her calm. It helped a ton with her startle reflex.
  5. Fisher Price Baby Swing – During the day, when Avery was a newborn, I liked to keep her in close proximity to me. This swing was a God-send for me. With the spinning mobile up top, Avery would fall asleep watching it and would nap so well.
  6. Infantino Baby Carrier – I love this baby carrier because it’s extremely easy to use. I never could figure out the cloth wraps. I love how I can put my daughter in this and she’s completely content. There comes a time where some babies don’t want to be put down. Just having your baby in a carrier can help keep them happy. Plus, you don’t have to tire out your arms from carrying the baby around.
  7. Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock – This hammock is amazing for going to the store. It connects to the grocery cart and your baby can sleep in it or just relax while you shop. Since it rests at the top of the cart, you lose hardly any space inside the cart compared to putting a car seat in it.
  8. Comotomo Bottle – I always pumped when Avery was a newborn so I loved these bottles for her. What I think is great is that even if you nurse, I’ve read numerous reviews that these bottles are great because they’re reminiscent of a breast. A lot of breastfed babies have hard times taking bottles. I get so many funny comments about these bottles but I really love them! They’re made from silicone so they’re comfortable to hold.
  9. Desitin Rapid Relief   I love this diaper rash cream! It works incredibly fast. I’ve tried several kinds but I keep coming back to this one.
  10. Copper Pearl Multi-Use Cover – This cover is amazing because it can be used numerous ways. You can use it when you’re breastfeeding, you can cover your baby’s car seat, you can also put it on a grocery cart so your baby doesn’t touch the handlebar. I like using this cover during the winter when everyone is sick. I can place it over the car seat, and it deters people from touching my baby.

What are your newborn must-haves?

Zipadee-Zip Swaddle Transitioner Blanket + Giveaway

If you’ve swaddled your baby for a while but they’re starting to turn over, you may want to get a swaddle transitioner. I’ve been using the Zipadee-Zip for a few months now, and I love it. My daughter had been swaddled since birth so, naturally, I was worried about taking a swaddle away from her. The swaddle was comforting to her and also it was familiar.

I starting using the Zipadee-Zip when Avery was 4 months old – but that proved to be too soon for her. With teething going on, and so much mental transitioning, she just wasn’t ready for it. I decided to try it months later at 6-7 months and Avery slept wonderfully in it. I would say the biggest thing is to not compare your child to anyone else’s. Do what works for your child.

As far as transitioning Avery when she was older, it was seamless. I’m glad that I waited a bit to use a transitioner with her. Her first night (at 6-7 months) with the Zipadee-Zip she slept with no problems. The nights thereafter, she slept great too.

What I love about the Zipadee-Zip is that Avery has a blanket to keep her warm. I don’t have to worry about the material covering her face or anything scary like that. Because Avery used to take naps with me nearby, I’d let her use a blanket. So she became comfortable with a blanket. At night, that posed a problem. Thankfully, the Zipadee-Zip solved that problem for me. I love that it’s easy to put on to her. I simply put her arms and legs in and I zip it up. If she happens to turn over in the night, it’s no problem because she is able to use her hands and arms to move around. One thing that is great about the Zipadee-Zip is that it helps with the startle reflex in babies. It has a wing design so there is a slight resistance if the child puts their arms out.

I’d definitely recommend the Zipadee-Zip to moms whose children have been swaddled. It’s the perfect way to transition your child to sleeping without the swaddle.

The makers of the Zipadee-Zip also make teethers! My daughter absolutely loves hers. I clip it to her outfit and she’s able to grab it and gnaw on the silicone shapes. There is also a piece of fabric with a snap button on the opposite end of the clip so that I can attach a binky to the teether. Let me just tell you now that I have tried numerous teethers with Avery and she will hardly ever touch them. This one is one of her absolute favorites! 🙂

You can find the Zipadee-Zip HERE. Follow their social media platforms below.
